“Through them [Affinity4] every time you make a call, you could be giving water to a thirsty child without adding anything else to your budget. Every time you log on the Internet, you would be helping us to reach the world with the same powerful messages that have blessed you.”

The Reason for the Season

Posted by Whitney Vaughan at 11:00 am

WWP resizedI take pride in working for Affinity4 because we help so many charities and ministries.  Now that we are entering the time labeled as “the season of giving” I have seen Affinity4 increase in its philanthropy; especially through this year’s holiday promotion.

Affinity4’s holiday promotions are special offers that are geared to assisting a specific nonprofit organization, and this year Affinity4 selected the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Wounded Warrior Project strives to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members. Starting November 15th, Affinity4 made the Wounded Warrior Project’s goals our goals. Affinity4 donated up to $10 on every sale of a highlighted product, and customers were encouraged to send in Christmas cards for recovering soldiers. We also hosted a very successful event in early December where all the employees took time away from their work to make additional Christmas cards for the Wounded Warrior Project. The eagerness to participate from customers and employees was endearing and it is the reason Affinity4 is truly able to make a difference.

We want to thank all those that contributed in making a difference for our wounded soldiers this holiday season. Thanks to you, we were able to donate over $2,700 and send more than 450 holiday cards to the Wounded Warrior Project. This success has not only served as a blessing to those that received the donations but also as a beautiful reminder that giving is a blessing in and of itself.

How have you been blessed this Holiday Season?

Who do you like to support during the holidays?

It’s Beginning to Look alot like Christmas!

Posted by Dee Spruce at 10:17 am

christmas-sceneIt really is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Christmas trees are decorated, lights are up, packages wrapped, cards are out and folks are still pouring into stores for last minute shopping.  Can you believe that in just a few days we will be gathering with family and friends for food, fellowship and of course to open gifts!

Speaking of gifts, if I had to list the one thing that I struggle with most each year it’s trying to find everyone that perfect Christmas gift.  On that note, just this morning I read this quote by Oren Arnold offering these suggestions for Christmas gifts:  To your enemy, forgiveness.  To an opponent, tolerance.  To a friend, your heart.  To a customer, service.  To all, charity.  To every child, a good example.  To yourself, respect.

What a perfect Christmas gift list, no sizes or colors to choose from, no searching for a box they will fit in, no wrapping required!  Just like the ultimate gift of Jesus Christ given to us by God, these are gifts we can give at Christmas and all year long!

May your holiday be filled with peace, love, joy and laughter and centered on the “ultimate” gift of Christ this year and always!  Merry Christmas!

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

Why is Holiday Giving on the Decline?

Posted by Whitney Vaughan at 10:28 am

christmas-gift-givingWhy is Holiday giving on the Decline?

The Holidays have always been time when people give abundantly to charities and ministries, but unfortunately this year it seems the sour state of the economy has affected generosity.  Last year according to “Giving USA” an annual report published by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University charitable giving fell by 2%, but this year the nation’s 400 largest charities expect giving to decline by an alarming 9%. It is unclear whether or not giving is affected by recession and recovery from recessions. Timothy Seiler, director of at the Center’s Public Service and Fundraising School says “The slower the economic rebound, the slower the rebound will be for charitable giving.”

People have continued to give to charity during the recession just in smaller amounts. This fact hurts charitable organizations because a significant portion of the donations they receive are from individuals. Also grants for nonprofit organizations are on the decline. Thankfully charities are finding innovative ways to cope with the state of the economy.

Although the spirit to give may not be strong this year the demand for charity’s services have increased. Charities are still doing all they can to help others by finding donations even in the midst of financial hardships. Many charities have increase solicitations with direct mail, phone calls, and emails to inspire giving. Charities are cutting costs wherever they can in order give more contributions directly to those in need. Also they are using social media and the Internet to raise funds and spark interest from new donors. Hopefully all the efforts being made will help charities to continue to be a blessing in the lives of the less fortunate this holiday season.

Will you continue to donate to Charities and Ministries this holiday season?

How will you help Charities and Ministries this Holiday season?

Introducing the Newest Way to Help Support your Favorite Charity!!!

Posted by Erin Brown at 11:41 am

ErinSit1(resized)It’s a headache thinking about the troubles I have had in the past with my vehicles, from flat tires to dead batteries; you name it—it’s happened to me. That’s why I am looking forward to the launch of Affinity4’s new roadside assistance program called the Motorist Advantage Program (MAPs). I have a new car and this time around I’m going to have MAPs on my side.

The Motorist Advantage Program puts my mind at ease because I know I’ll have  emergency road services at my finger tips. These services include everything from lockouts, winching, tire changes, to automotive first aid, and towing. The services are handled by private local towing companies contracted by our provider, Road America; which makes it available virtually everywhere throughout the United States and Canada.  Also members will have the opportunity to enjoy discounted car rentals and hotel accommodations from well know national chains like Alamo, Avis, Budget, Days Inn, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Ramada Inns, Howard Johnsons, and more.

I am excited for the launch of MAPs because, like our other products and services, this program allows you to make a difference to your favorite ministry or charity through our GiveBack Program. Plus it is totally affordable starting at $6.99 per month. I’m given real peace of mind knowing I’m covered for less than $0.25 per day. I can’t wait to sign up! Because I know with Affinity4 I will have quality service and I am helping my favorite nonprofit organization.

What could our Motorist Advantage Program help you with?
