“Our tiny little church with fewer than 60 members has a youth outreach program to about 200 deaf students each year. We use the checks to help support telling these deaf children about their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Joel Osteen’s New Book!

Posted by Katie King at 11:44 am

katie01webresizedJoel Osteen’s new book It’s Your Time will be released Tuesday, November 3.
It’s Your Time offers a potent and inspiring message about the power that God has to help you change your life.  Osteen uses compelling examples drawn from the Bible and popular culture to show how everyone has the God given ability to achieve great things.  The book is structured around four main concepts – Favor (Faith), Restoration, Belief in Yourself and Lifting Others.  Osteen calls this his best work yet with a bigger, bolder message than any of his previous works: God has given you everything you need to change your life, and you must use that power to strive beyond your limits.

Osteen is a native Texan and the Pastor of Lakewood Church, America’s largest and fastest growing church with over 38,000 attendees.  Joel is the most watched inspirational figure in America and his first book, Your Best Life Now, debuted at the top of the New York Times bestsellers list and quickly rose to #1.  It remained on the New York Times list for more than 2 years and has sold more than 4 million copies.  His next book, Become a Better You, was released in October of 2007 and was an instant New York Times bestseller, remaining on the list for more than 7 months and selling more than 1.6 million copies.

When will you be picking up your copy?

Online Giving

Posted by Michael Baldwin at 11:38 am

Michael BaldwinWorking at Affinity4 showed me the truth behind fundraising; that it is hard work. In addition to all the traditional fundraising tactics, now Online Giving is a broadly used tool. Fundraising can be difficult for any organization, from the large corporations that everyone knows to small church groups just trying to do their part. Especially in today’s economy, it’s important to use different methods and stay abreast of current fundraising ideas; it’s more than knocking door to door in 2009.

I often read heartfelt letters from different nonprofit organization’s thanking our customers and thanking Affinity4 for donations. These organizations work so hard and they are thankful for every cent they raise.

I admire Affinity4 for taking another step in helping organizations continue to make a difference in our world with their recent initiative of hosting free webinars. They are geared to helping charities and ministries fundraise at their full potential and I am glad that I was selected to lead this one. For more information on our next webinar, “Online Giving”, scheduled for November 4th at 2:00pm EST visit Our Webinar Page

New Beginnings

Posted by Whitney Vaughan at 10:59 am

Three years ago Old Dominion University was the start of a new life for me with open doors, endless opportunities, and limitless adventure. Little did I know the college years would fly by and I would find myself an accomplished senior graduating in May 2010 with a major in Communication and a minor in Marketing. I don’t see this time in my life as an ending but as the dawn to a bright future. This fall I am enrolled in an alternative course where a student is required to find an internship position, learn from their experience, and of course write a few papers. I was fortunate to find a marketing internship with Affinity4 through the university career management center. When I first applied I had course credits in mind, but somewhere during my first interview when I was trying to market myself Affinity4 sold itself to me; I knew this company was the place for me.

I hit the ground running my first week. Learning the ropes and balancing school work was an anticipated challenge, but my experience can only be described as rewarding. Everyone in the office glows with Affinity4 spirit, the same spirit I felt the first time I walked into the office. I was already impressed by the mission of Affinity 4, but the goodwill of this company also shines through its employees. Each morning I am greeted by smiles which make me eager to learn and soak up all the knowledge I can.

God is always opening doors for me and I feel blessed. Over the past 3 years I have written countless papers, listened to numerous lectures, and studied a myriad of subject; sometimes it’s easy to forget what one is working for. This opportunity to apply my education in a working environment is a blessing. The future is still a realm of infinite possibility for me. While the door of undergraduate senior year maybe closing, Affinity4 has opened the door to new beginnings.

Will Religious Life Remain the Same?

Posted by Whitney Vaughan at 6:51 pm

Based on a recent article by Rachel Zoll, AP Religion Writer, the recession has lent a hard blow to religious life; resulting in drained financial resources of many congregations, seminaries and religious day schools alike. Areas hardest hit by the recession have seen worshippers move away to find new jobs, leaving churches and those who remain to minister to struggling communities.

Across the board denominations are feeling the crunch. Enrollment in a group of 120 Jewish community day schools is reportedly down by 7%. The Association for Christian Schools International, representing about 3800 private schools reports enrollment down by nearly 5%. The Episcopal Church, Southern Baptist Convention, United Methodist Church, Catholic Church and other denominations have been forced to slash their budgets resulting in job cuts and closings for their ministries across the board.

We are all affected by the financial issues facing our nation. For many of us, just trying to decide how much and where to donate our money can be difficult and frustrating. We know that our first commitment is to our church. But we often have other ministries that are dear to our hearts! That’s the beauty of Affinity4. Even in times like these, without digging any deeper into our pockets we can help financially support our favorite charity or ministry by simply making a phone call, surfing the web, or even watching television through the 10% GiveBack Program. Ordinary activities, still leading to extraordinary giving!

What aspect of your religious life has been affected by the recession?

And again!

Posted by Thomas Gilmore at 5:10 pm

“To date, we’ve been able to donate more than $76 million to charities and ministries – and together we can do even more.” That said it all for me. When I first heard of Affinity4, I realized that I could take my 20 years of sales experience and focus my efforts towards the Affinity4 mission of helping to support nonprofits’ goals by assisting in their fundraising efforts. As a father of 3, Affinity4 gives me the chance to teach my kids the importance of Charity in today’s society. I’m proud to be part of such a giving organization with a great cause and I am blessed each and every day for the opportunity of knowing that I can make a difference.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Posted by Whitney Vaughan at 1:22 pm

October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is a period where our nation consciously recognizes survivors, care takers, and the departed for their strength and courage. The American Cancer Society (ACS) estimates that 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed among women in the United States this year. We wear the pink ribbon in support of all those touched by breast cancer because support is the cornerstone to raising awareness, finding the cause and the cure.

It is inspiring to see the thousands of people that gather for cancer walks, awareness concerts, fundraisers, and various other events; progress is being made. Approximately 2.5 million breast cancer survivors are currently residing in the United States. It is their bravery that encourages so many others to press on and it is this month that has the power to make so many people thankful for their loved ones. While we should appreciate Breast Cancer Awareness year-round the empowerment stirred up in October can only be seen as a blessing.

Here We Grow Again!

Posted by Stacey Grimsley at 1:27 pm

Ordinary Activities. Extraordinary Giving. That’s what first jumped out at me when I visited Affinity4’s website. I knew that when I left my old employer, I wanted to work for a company that makes a difference in our communities. Affinity4 fits that bill.

What’s exciting about working here is that I am able to bring my years of experience from big corporate cultures to the operations of Affinity4. I know that I am working with people that are concerned with the success of the business not just because of the bottom line; but, because they are concerned with improving our world.
